The portal is available online by following the link- Online registration

Please see the contact information online for any questions you may have about the tournament.

PLEASE NOTE: There have been a couple of changes to the registration process for all events in the domestic season which started September 1st, 2016. If this is your first National level event or your first event at all this season, there are some additional steps that need to be taken to ensure that you are able to register. We encourage you to register early to ensure there are no issues with your membership and registration process. Below is an explanation of the registration process.

PLAYER REGISTRATION
On June 1st , 2016 Badminton Canada migrated to a closed or locked tournament registration environment. The new Badminton Canada environment requires that all players (including “International Players”, which are defined below) meet three requirements, all of which must be met before tournament registration will be permitted. These include:

  1. All players must have a valid 2016-2017 Membership
  2. All players must be defined within the Badminton Canada Player Database (have a valid Player ID)
  3. All players must have an account within the Badminton Canada domain which is both active and confirmed

This change could affect:

  1. Canadian players who only play Masters tournaments in Canada
    • These players will need to ensure that they have a valid “National” level membership from their home province prior to attempting to register for the 2017 Canadian National Masters Championships. It is assumed that they currently have a valid 2016-2017 membership at some level within their home province and are not using a generic Tournament Software account which no longer has access to Badminton Canada tournaments.
  2. Canadian players who play Masters tournaments in Canada and elsewhere
    • These players also need a valid “National” level membership from their home province prior to attempting to register for the 2017 Canadian National Masters Championships. However, there is an added complication for these players as the generic Tournament Software accounts which are required to enter tournaments in other countries no longer permit access to Badminton Canada events. Badminton Canada suggests that these players not link their existing Tournament Software accounts to the Badminton Canada domain but instead create completely new accounts for use within Canada and maintain their existing Tournament Software accounts for use Internationally.
  3. Non-Canadian players who regularly play tournaments within Canada
    • These players must already have valid 2016-2017 membership in the Canadian province in which they compete. Badminton Canada recommends that if they do not already have a “National” level membership that they upgrade their existing provincial membership to “National” level.
  4. Non-Canadian player who only play the Canadian National Masters Championship
    • For players in this situation, Badminton Canada has created a special membership category entitled “International Player” to permit these players to meet the tournament registration requirements of the closed/locked Badminton Canada domain without the requirement to purchase a provincial membership. See explanation below.

INTERNATIONAL PLAYER MEMBERSHIP
The Badminton Canada International Player Membership is specifically designed to ensure that out of country players are able to register for the Canadian National Masters Championships. This is the sole purpose of this membership.

To purchase an International Membership a player should meet the following criteria:

  1. Be 30 years old or older on January 1, the year of the Canadian National Masters Championship in which they wish to play.
  2. Do not have an existing membership from any province within CanadA
  3. Reside outside of Canada
  4. Do not intend to play any additional tournaments in Canada during the year.

If you have questions about this membership, please contact John Russell, Badminton Canada Player Database Administrator at john_russell@rogers.com

We look forward to receiving your registration and wish you best of luck at the 2017 Yonex Canadian Masters Badminton Championship.
